SUPERVISION TIMES

Please note this reminder to all families of our supervision arrangements at Wallington Primary School, in accordance with our Yard Duty Supervision Policy.

  • Student Arrival: Students may arrive at school from 8:30 am if supervised by a parent or carer.

  • Staff Supervision: School staff supervision commences at 8:45 am. Before this time, staff are not available to supervise students.

Before and after school, timetabled staff supervise the main car park for drop-off and pick-up, as well as roam the basketball court, front of school, and school oval. Parents and carers are responsible for supervising their children outside of these times.

Please also remember the driveway should remain clear, unless you are specifically dropping off children at the drop-zone. If you are waiting to collect children, please do so by pulling into a car parking space to ensure traffic can flow efficiently.

I would also like to remind families that, as a school, we promote our expected behaviours, as outlined in our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) matrix, to be followed at all times when on school grounds. As you know, these behaviours were thoughtfully developed to reflect the values our school community identified as most important. Our focus on respect, responsibility, and resilience is strengthened when we work together to support students in learning and practising these behaviours. We truly appreciate the role parents and carers play in modelling and reinforcing these expectations when supervising children outside of school hours, helping us maintain a positive and supportive environment for all.

For families who require care outside of supervised hours, before and after school care is available through Woodlands House. More information can be found at https://www.wallington-ps.vic.edu.au/out-of-hours-care or by calling (03) 5255 5735.

Thank you for your support in keeping our school a safe and positive environment for all students.

NEW GARDEN

A huge thank you to the parent volunteers, staff, and students who dedicated their time and effort to creating and developing the beautiful new garden bed next to the mud kitchen. Your hard work has made yet another wonderful addition to our school grounds.

As the garden grows, it’s up to all of us to be responsible and respectful in looking after this space. Please remember to keep off the garden and use the stairs when moving between the gym/Year 6 room and the main building/top playground.

Thank you for helping us take care of our school environment!

Wellbeing at Wallington

Welcome back to Wallington’s weekly wellbeing activities!

In the student diary this week, students are asked to design their own ready to learn scale. Ready to learn scales are a tool that students can use to check their emotions and readiness to learn. It also helps them to identify any challenges that might get in the way of learning and allows teachers to suggest strategies that might support them.

To help your child get started you can ask them what their favourite character would look like if they were not yet ready to learn, getting ready and ready to learn.

In class, students have been learning about their emotions in Topic One of Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships. Having a personalised ready to learn scale will support them to apply what they are learning in class.

The Wellbeing Team

Another successful breakfast club this week! Lots of happy faces and full tummies. A big thankyou to Ms Cooke and the Year 6 students who help make it such a success and so enjoyable for all our students at Wallington.
